Volunteer Info

Thanks for your interest in the Denver St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee, Inc.  We are a non-profit group made up of over 250 volunteers who, with the help of our members and sponsors have a great time honoring our city, our state and our ancestors and as a bonus we put the biggest St. Patrick’s Day Parade west of the Mississippi onto the streets of LoDo!

Putting a parade of this size and caliber on the street is a major production requiring lots of people doing lots of things; and we have an amazing time along the way!  Like any giant production, a giant parade needs planning, sponsors, publicity, directors, music, actors, props, and behind the scenes workers.  We are a working organization divided up into several subcommittees who have specific focuses and tasks.  Why not join us?  Become an active member and lend your expertise and talent to one or more of our sub-committees.  Join our committee family in giving back to our community and make everlasting friendships along the way.

Check out some of our subcommittees!

Awards’ Banquet—This subcommittee is proud to organize an event to honor our outstanding parade participants each year.

Charitable Giving—This subcommittee plots our donation plan for each year.  While we strive to provide financial donations to several local charities, we also participate in donating needed items throughout the year by holding clothing and toy drives.

Christmas Party—This subcommittee plans and presents the annual Christmas party for our members and guests.  We always enjoy great food and camaraderie and are not disappointed when a special guest makes an appearance all the way from the North Pole!

Grandstand—This subcommittee secures the parade permits, fencing, stages, seating, tents, food and beverage and sanitation requirements for the guest area on parade day.  They are responsible for erecting and dismantling the fencing around the guest area on parade day.

Marshals—This subcommittee “PUTS THE PARADE ON THE STREET”.  These are the men and women in green jackets that you see in the Parade staging area and along the Parade Route.  The marshals are our managers who manage thousands of people with grace and ease.  They keep everyone safe and on time!  The Parade Marshals begin their planning about 6 months before Parade Day; hundreds of hours go into their seemingly effortless management!

Magazine—This subcommittee solicits advertisements, procures and edits articles related to the Denver Metro area’s Irish community and the Parade, and publishes and distributes the annual Parade Magazine.

Pub Crawl—This subcommittee plans all aspects of our annual pre-parade pub crawl and halfway to St. Patrick’s Day pub crawl.  Always a sell-out, these events are sure winners!

Publicity and Marketing—This subcommittee handles all communication with the news media including writing and distribution of press releases.  They are also responsible for keeping the general public informed so that no one misses the Parade!

VIP/Reviewing Stand—This subcommittee acts as hosts for our local and visiting dignitaries on parade day.  Remember, everyone is Irish on St. Patrick’s Day!
